It has both tannic structure and freshness enhanced with discreet, spicy notes.

Mourvèdre is a rather capricious variety which some years falls short of perfect ripeness. This is why we produce this wine as a single variety only in those years when conditions are perfect and the grapes reach full maturity.

For it to reveal its true character, we have elected to vinify this as a varietal wine even though it is planted on appellation soil. It is produced from low-yield vine, trained “cordon de Royat” style, which helps to give the wine its quite remarkable structure and intensity.
